There is a difference between a side-effect an an ADR (Adverse Drug Reaction). You have experienced one of the known side-effects. Not everyone experiences the side-effects. An ADR is a bit more serious; breathing issues, throat closures, etc.

Here's a unique side effect for me. Benedryl does not make tired. One of the side effects that most people experience is becoming tired. I have the reverse-side effect to it which is documented and experienced by a much smaller part of the population.

You are right about the Motrin though except I have an allergy to Ibuprofen, I get flushed and my ears turn bright red when I take Motrin, Advil etc. It makes me feel like my face is on fire.
Excedrin works best for me with no bad effects.
You don't necessarily have an allergy to Ibuprofin, but you are one of the ones that do experience the known side effects.

That being said, take what works best for you. So, Excedrin it is.

As far as Head-On goes, there is no scientific information that it works, yet some people say it works for them and others say not at all.

Not sure how much of it is slowing down the competition, or quick elimination of the competition. Who knows, if I was in charge at Verizon and/or Sprint, I might proceed the same way. As a customer of Vonage, I'm offended. I'm a stockholder of none of the bunch. :)

And no, the head-on stuff does not work. That is truly the bigger scam. :) You're better off popping a motrin. The only thing it might give you is the placebo effect that you think your headache is getting better.
