Actually the iPhone has EDGE (some call it 2.5G), a slightly better technology than GPRS (2G). |

Apple didn't go with EVDO, they went with GPRS. I think you mean UMTS/HSDPA |

One reason... why apple didn't put 3G chips on the iPhone, and took EVDO instead. The anandtech review speculated 3G chips to subtract roughly an hour of usage time. |
