Shaw Music

anybody tried »music.shaw.ca yet? Basically all the music channels you get on digital tv, but online. You just access it with your shaw email address. So far I am liking it just notice sometimes that the progress bar is a bit behind the music but overall quite good. Sound quality is also great (128kbps), beats a lot of internet radio stations. And its also adfree which is nice.

What are your thoughts on it?

Shoutcast has been plenty good for me. I listen to some stations from Sweden and Germany lol.

I've used it a few times. Pretty much as described, although it doesn't seem to be the complete Galaxie lineup. Sounds quality was good, with no stuttering / rebuffering issues that I have seen using other net radio applications. (Although, I've only used a small handful, so my results may not be typical.)

Has both current / next track info, along with album art. Overall, nothing mind numbing, but a cute little add-on.

It's a terrific service but I can't find a volume control. Is it supposed to load WMP automatically?

Works great for meI can save the stream (legally I might ad) Thanks to using a Mac. This is with the built in QuickTime. I won't save the stream since I don't download music, but am making a point.

I confirmed with Shaw today that the music module is not optimized for Firefox yet. Works fine for me with IE 'til then.

What is Internet... Explorer did you say? Mine's looonnng gone and not coincidentally so are a lot of my computer's problems.

I realize us Firefox users are in the minority, but hopefully we'll get to enjoy Shaw Music soon too.

Just tried it now using Firefox & Linux and it doesn't work at all. I don't care, though, because I prefer Soma.fm anyway.

Actually I just tried with Firefox (latest version) and also had no problem.

Congrats to Shaw - something nice to listen to while I'm at the computer. And contribute to my cap!
