Re: AT&T is getting on my last nerve! I really hate the way the Direct forum software works. It's like your told to perfectly state your complaint and then shut your mouth for days on end or face being dropped off of the face of the planet.
I'm also right behind your Marky. It kills me that I'm FTTP and yet I can only get 5MB downloads. I've got various friends with TW Cable service and they swear they get 7-10MB. Getting real close to saying adios AT&T. |

Actually it was a request here made by most and actually became a feature. You can edit your request for up to 3 days in the direct forums now. Not just at&t, all of them. The only thing is just don't reply to them. Edit before you reply. Replying knocks it off the list we see.
It's not the greatest system in the world, but it's 85% better than what we had. We had some people that would IM us as least once every 10 minutes, and they would do it to all of us. -- If you have a topic in the direct forum please reply to it or a post of mine, I get a notification when you do this. Koetting Ford, Granite City, illinois... YOU'RE FIRED!!

My neighbor and amigo just had Cox 12/1 installed, and he's seeing 14mbps downloads SUSTAINED - not powerboost, but SUSTAINED over large downloads. His pings are also rock solid. That pretty much made up my mind. |

That pretty much made up my mind. It's sad to read that a 'future proof' technology like FTTP has been delegated to a second class service in favor of a third class technology like FTTN. I guess that even 100% fiber in the hands of AT&T/SBC can become crap.
I switched from AT&T adsl to TW business cable about two years ago and I never looked back. I started with 7000/1000 business class service and last month TW upgraded my service to 10000/2000 for the same price. I get 10500/1940 kbps all the time.
Cable is not perfect, you will see some fluctuations in speed but the PHY layer is more stable and robust than adsl. If I balance down time, speed, and VOIP (digital phone) and TV reliability TW (cable) comes ahead every single time. |

MarkyDPremium join:2002-08-20 Oklahoma City, OK | reply to MarkyD Well, got my install today. I'm seeing SUSTAINED download speeds of 15mbps, and upload speeds of about 1.2mbps. I live in a brand new development with brand new cables and a brand new (under-utilized) node...so I'm enjoying my new cable broadband.
AT&T's only chance of getting me back is to push better speeds over that fiber than I'm getting now, as well as multiple HD streams via uverse. Till then, I'm staying with Cox/Dish. -- -Put this in your profile if you know someone who is fighting, has survived, or died from ninja attacks. |

What's your cost for those services? 41.95 a month for 12/1 internet... Dish, I pay about $60 a month for HD-DVR, America's top 200, and an additional receiver in the bedroom. |
