Yes, at the bit level it's all or nothing, but most digital systems have some sort of redundancy or error correction to handle the loss of some bits. I have seen plenty of digital video that is obviously somewhere halfway between the "all" and "nothing" states. Tiling, green spots on the screen, excessive pixelation, etc will replace analog distortions. |
