| [northeast] How to Disable International Long Distance Calling
Hi,
I live in SouthJersey area and just got the Verizon FIOS bundled service (phone, TV and internet).
During the order, I specifically instructed Verizon that I was not interested in their international long distance service.
After the installation, I realized that they left international dialing on the line.
I called the customer service, but they indicated they have no way of disabling the service.
what can I do about this...anyone else experience this?

Are you sure that what they meant was that the ability to call long distance was not blocked? And that you don't have a LD plan with VZ? |

I can call long distance within the US -- I subscribed for that option...what I did not subscribe for was Verizon's International Calling plan.

| reply to MannyNoela I believe that International Long Distance (4.99 per month) is part of Freedom Essentials...
Honestly, I dont think Verizon even knows themselves. When I signed up for Bundle, they made me switch to them as International Provider because it was required with Freedom Essentials... Or so they said.
Recently, I was calling to them to cancel Tripple Play and get my basic 20$ line back so I could use my other International Provider and they said that it wouldnt affect any packages...
I'm rather confused myself right now. I suggest calling a few times untill you get a representative which can remove the International Plan... |

well, I will call a few more times, and get a different rep to speak to.
