[VoiceStick] HandyTone 286 cannot register

Does anyone have any hint on how to make it work?

THanks

Did you put in your phone number and password and save the setting in the advanced configuration page?

Thanks for your reply.

However, I think I found out the reason. THe Grandstream HandyTone 286 has compatability problem with my Linksys WRT54GX version 2 router.

So voicestick might again choose the wrong model of ATA...

I am using a WRT54GL w/ dd-wrt firmware installed and it is working fine.

If I connect the Grandstream to my Linksys BEFW11S4 router it will not work. I currently have it connected to a 10/100 hub and it works fine.I just wish I could get it to work properly with the Linksys router.

If you've gone through the typical troubleshooting, you may be running into an ALG (»en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Applicatio···_gateway).

Some Linksys routers contain a SIP/VoIP ALG that is triggered by traffic attempting to use UDP port 5060. You may want to contact VoiceStick and ask them if they have an "alternative" SIP port that you can use to bypass the SIP ALG.

If they do not have an "alternative" SIP Port for you to use and/or you have more than one VoIP device behind the Linksys, you may want to change the port that your HT286 listens on to something that is not being used by any other device (such as UDP Port 5070).

If neither of these solutions work, you may need to use port mappings or test without the SPI firewall enabled.
