AOL MUST be happy...

About that number, holy smokes that's a huge number to drop in a quarter...

Earthlinks numbers are shrinking almost just as fast.

But still, it's quite amazing how long AOL has held on to these people.

Of the 3 listed that are losing customers instead of growing, they are all primarily dial-up companies. So the march towards broadband continues unabated.

You know I kinda miss the AOHell CDs, they made for good coasters for the coffee table.
The main reason people are leaving AOL and Earthlink faster than rats fleeing a sinking ship is if available, people are opting for more affordable "lite" connections from their telco or cable co.

Yup all the dialup Internet services are bleeding customers
AOL, Earthlink, UnitedOnline (Netzero).

I'm actually amazed that even with 6Mbps (Max sync, not throughput and not available in MANY places), AT&T is still adding DSL lines, and at a higher rate than Comcast.

I'm sure that it won't last too long, as they bleed POTS customers, they have to offer naked DSL.

Were you out here in California this morning, Comcast Rick?
Someone was either very drunk, or despised AT&T.
A light pole, fire hydrant, AT&T cross connect and Uverse VRAD were all run down.
Then again.. it could have been some of those copper theives attempting to get some old copper.

Consider the speeds is lower but so is the price, and they don't care how much traffic you use 24/7. I think AT&T DSL users can actually use more bandwidth per month than cable users because they will cap or throttle heavy users.
