[Kerio 2.x] Kerio 2.1.5 slow startup

Hi guys.

Ive encountered this problem more than a year ago but i had forgotten how to fix it.

The problem is that when i startup my computer, kerio takes an awful long time to startup. It's like it is waiting for something to finish. My computer is setup to obtain ip and dns dynamically.

The funny thing is that this happens when i plug the computer straight into the modem.

If i plug it into the router, it boots up real fast. It's as if the computer cant get an address quick enough if i plug direct.

if i use the router which acts as a dhcp server that hands out a 192.168 address, kerio boots up real fast.

thanks guys.

Re: [Kerio 2.x] Kerio 2.1.5 slow startup

It is because the modem doesn't want to service a direct connection without you releasing the previous lease from the router, or even worse they could be restricting which mac addresses can connect at the headend having nothing to do with your modem.

So next time you need to directly connect turn off your modem for at least 10 second, and try again....

Its a common problem with certain hardware.
