1 edit | DSL is offline Hi Velcom. I have been experiencing some DSL connection problems. What happens is the DLS light on my modem suddenly turns off and I cant get an IP address anymore for a while (24 hours or so). Restarting the modem does not help and the wiring is proper as well, since I've tried it in several locations in my apartment. This happens almost sporadically for the last two weeks. I have opened a ticket, however I'm not sure if it would help. I live in Bathurst & Sheppard area. Now I'm wondering maybe it could have been some hardware upgrades in my area that would explain this problem.
Another question is I have a modem leftover from Bell. Speedstream 5200 was wondering if I could use that instead of the modem Velcom provided?

| Re: DSL is ofline Bell/Velcom should be able to resolve the problem through the ticket.
What modem did you get from Velcom? If it's the Speed Touch 516 keep using that. It's one of the best modems out there. Your Bell modem will also work. |

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing some problems with your account however I am not able to pull up your account since I do not have the information to allow me and investigate it further. You can PM your information if you would like.
With your old Bell modem you should not run into any problem if you would like to use it with Velcom.
