| reply to Snakeoil Re: [Sci-Fi] Torchwood.. anyone watching?
Well, I dont want to offend anyone either but I see such scenes as gratuitous and therefore add little or nothing to the storyline IMO.
Having said that, its still seems like a relatively small part of the show and Im not particularly offended. Im still new to the show having just jumped in on the last few episodes of season one and the beginning of season two so Im prepared to give them plenty of leeway.
Depending on how prevalent it is throughout the show, I suspect that this particular element may keep it from expanding into other markets. For example, we may never see it on SciFi or if we do such brief graphic scenes will likely be edited out.
I still say that they have done some character tweaking with Jack because besides the advances he made toward Rose, in his last appearance on Dr Who he made advances toward a certain green female alien who liked to say tho allot. And yet his female coworkers at Torchwood go un-debauched. |

| reply to Snakeoil Actually, considering how bitterly I protested the hatchet job of editing the Scif channel inflicted on Dr Who its pretty amusing that I might find an uncut or less edited version of Torchwood to have elements that I might not care to see,
.
The irony is not lost on me,

Seriously though, I can accept Torchwood as it is. Its someones artistic vision and very entertaining for the most part. I also dont much care for censorship in principle. |

I would prefer to watch this show without cuts, the way any good program is meant to be seen. -- I don't mind coming to work, but that eight hour wait to go home is a bitch. |

| reply to hobnob Feom what I read at IMDB.. "Spike" isn't gay. He has a child from a former marriage. But that is about all it says.
I think Marsters is an actor and will do what it takes to make the role more real.
The second time I watched the bar fight, I thought .. wow, that is intense...
A thumbs up to BBC and Torchwood for including such a "hot topic" as this in the show.
I checked out Barrowman's web site... He is a pretty boy ain't he .

Well, I understand what youre talking about but it really is a fine line if you think about it and a slippery slope. Once you start deciding what people can view / consume for them its hard to know when to stop.
BTW, is it me or does the Torchwood Rift manipulator look like the Dr Who Tardus controls ,

| reply to Geronimo I must admit that the Torchwood characters seem to be some of the most sexually unexpected in their actions I can recall in a show. While my wife and I both cringe when Captain Jack starts kissing another guy, I think it is because we just aren't used to seeing it. But if they don't tone it down a bit I fear they are going to alienate too many viewers.
On the brighter side of Saturday night's episode, at least Tosh came back to the hetero side for a visit . Her character seems more vulnerable and thus more appealing than Gwen, at least to me. She is a very attractive actress. -- nohup rm -fr /& |

Did you catch the blooper when they ran onto the pier and Tosh dropped her bag... but when the guy had her in his arms, she had her bag on her shoulder again? |

Trust me, both Dr. Who and Torchwood have a HUGE gay following that will more than offset any hets who tune out due to their inability to tolerate a little gay snogging. -- Crunching for Help Defeat Cancer and FightAIDS@Home at the World Community Grid. |

| As one of the "het" set it doesn't bother me at all. It is a great show. Matter of fact all the snogging fits the story line completely. As stated before he isn't gay, het, nor bi. He is more of a "try" "he will try anyone or thing as long as he found them/it attractive". -- Bowling: It's cleaner than baseball. |
