Lewes DE Lighthouse
The old wallpaper threads are far too old to reply to now. Thought I would "revive" it with part 3.

I think we can all agree that LCD resolutions have changed a bit since the thread started, I would think that at least 1680x1050 is acceptable now.

As climbers See Profile said,

"A lot of images pass through the Gallery and the DI Forum which would make good wallpaper. If you have created a high-quality image that would be suitable for wallpaper--whether it be a photograph, scanned art, digital art, or whatever--that you are willing to share, please post it here. There is no limit to how often you can post, how many you can post, or how large they can be.

They should be scaled to one of the standard wallpaper sizes: 1024x768, 1152x864, 1280x1024, or 1600x1200. tmpchaos See Profile has given his approval for us to exceed the 800x600 posting limit usually used for this forum.

Notice that 800x600 is not a suggested size. It would be kind of small for most of our members.

Here is one to start us off. It's an older photo transformed with Gemologist See Profile painter action. Put on your sunglasses--it's a bright one. *grin*"...

I seem to be seeing a bit of noise in this photo which is unusual for ISO 100. Do you know what happened?

Toys R Us Wheel @ Times Square
My current wallpaper. I specifically composed this shot to be a wallpaper. That's the main reason the main subject (wheel) is to the right and I tried to highlight the wheel by stepping down the exposure a bit to make the background dark.

I'm not sure, but it looks a bit like scaled-up JPEG compression artifacts.

Yup, I think that is exactly it because it was scaled up a good bit.
