| D'oh! First early iPhone adopters get news that their phone dropped a whopping $200 in price within months of purchase. With this news their iPhones have now become both outdated and overpriced. Ouch!
I am glad to hear they're coming out with a 3g model though. That will be a killer combination.

Nowadays you can get a very bug-fixed one free with a contract, or an unlocked one from motorola for about $210 with an accompanying bluetooth headset. |

| reply to aviper9 How is Apple's pricing/feature/release schedule any different than any other piece of hot technology of recent times?
That computer you're using right now that you bought 3 months ago. Outdated & overpriced. Congratulations, you just proved my point. |
|
 | reply to WileEC I disagree. They were dumbasses to wait in line to buy that overpriced thing before any of the things that have happened since then. This only amplifies the dumbassedness. |
|
 | The jealousy I see here is unreal.
EVERY piece of technology is continually losing its value. For that matter, that includes cars, trucks, boats, etc....
My values are none of your business. You might want to spend your money on a depreciating asset like a boat, or a new laptop, or a CD of your favorite artist.... there's no difference. It's an entertainment expense, and at $399, it's cheaper than MOST hobbies. |

 | reply to justbits Right. And to think I actually waited in a line for hours to buy said computer. NOT! |

Why invest in old technology? We knew the entire world has ALREADY migrated to 3G, and most of the U.S. as well by the time it was released. I'm more concerned with UMTS here, not necessarily 3.75 and 4G services like HSDPA.
It was about as stupid as putting a G4 in a Mac Mini, and the people that bought them? Well, they're self explanatory.
I may consider one when they offer 3G. 400$ is ridiculous when you factor in it includes a contract, but I do think Apple is going somewhere with their concept. |

Totally agree. I really wanted to be excited about the iPhone, but the lack of 3g made it a non-starter for me. |
