Taking a flyer here, but I had this problem when I had too many filters running through AdBlockPlus. I stopped all except Rick's and it's fine now. This would apply if you're using Firefox with AdBlockPlus. Hope this helps.

Mine all work, hope it gets fixed for you. You could also try the external POP3 to see if that works as a workaround for this issue.
