Huh?

Inside the subway cars, okay, but in the stations? Who whips out their laptop during a 10-minute wait?

Edit: Never mind.

Re: Huh?

Some stations are already in range of a signal in some spots. Sounds like a huge amount of money for coverage just in stations, not on moving trains. And the major carriers have to partner with Transit Wireless to get coverage for their subscribers. Is this really needed?

So now we will have roaming charges in the subway? Or since most national carriers have no-roaming plans, that means we just wont have service in the subway.

Laptops?? This has nothing to do with laptops. This is so people on the platforms can use their cell phones in case of delays or emergencies. The article pretty clearly outlines why they are doing this.

I think this thread is quite possibly the worst I've seen here in a long time where folks just spout off without even glancing at the linked article...

I agree. In all honesty, I am usually not the type of person to jump on someone for this, but the fact that it happened in comment after comment is crazy. These people are not only not reading the article, but they are also not reading the other peoples comments (and the correcting responses) related to this news items.
