[Phone] Insight Phone and 911

I've signed up for Insight Phone service after having Vonage and now Viatalk. I'm switching mainly due to 911 service not being adequate on either one. When I made a test call to 911 on Viatalk, I was told by the operator that no information was being passed to them from me like name, address and phone number, as in their display showed NOTHING.

Can anyone tell me if Insight Phone 911 sends all the necessary information to 911 dispatch or if you've had personal experience with using 911, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Some areas may have e911, and other may not. As long as Insight has done their job correctly, you should have no problems. When we had Vonage, we had no problems calling 911, but have not tried with Insight yet.

Cannot hurt you to call the 800#.

I switched from P8 to Insight last March. I called 911 and the dispatcher said all that showed up was my phone number on his computer screen. No address and no name. I notified Insight yesterday and they said they are working on my problem. So I'll give them a chance to correct it. I like Insight's phone but it took repeated attempts to get my phone number ported, they finally had to assign me a temp phone number, my bill has never been correct, they had 2 no show appointments, and someone else's phone calls started showing up on my bill for the last 2 months. I had to switch from P8 because the voice quality was so poor. I almost gave up on Insight and switched to Verizon but now I'm glad I stuck with Insight.
