Tigers fade down the stretch - still a nice season

Injuries seemed to be the main culprit in the demise of the Tigers playoff hopes. Still it is more entertaining to be in a playoff race than to be out of it in July.

It really came down to pitching and not having depth where they thought they had it. The Roaster (or Gambler) going down for much of the season really hurt the starting rotation, and bullpen injuries made that portion of the staff shaky much of the year.

Next year should still be interesting, but many questions remain. Do you bring back Rogers? Bring back Pudge at 13 Million? Can Zumaya learn to really pitch instead of worrying about what the radar gun says? (Sorry, Zumaya has so much talent, but hasn't realized much of his potential - and I think he knows it)

Consider this the Tiger season post-mortem thread? What would you like to see the Tigers do?

They need a shortstop with Guillen going to first. Also some bullpen help.

They really need better pitching. After one good year, Robertson is pretty much back to a 'fair to decent' one. Roger's arm you can only ride for so long, it's pretty much at the end of a productive life. Bonderman ... I never did understand the contract he got last year. He can be brilliant at times but more times than not, he's such a slow starter that the first inning gives away too many win opportunities. Verlander is a gem. The bullpen is a shambles and Jones almost falls into the same category as Rogers.
