| Comcast = GARBAGE
I absolutely hate this company so much I wish it would burn in a firey hell for all of eternity. I moved to Colorado from Minnesota (had Qwest DSL there for at least 8 years with zero problems) in the spring of 2006 and signed up for cable broadband with Adelphia. I had no problems with Adelphia for the 10 months before Comcast bought them out. Once they bought Adelphia out, Comcast sent me a letter saying that unless I also bought cable TV from them, my broadband bill would go from 40.00 a month to 52.00 a month. That had me red in the face and I refused, and still do refuse, to buy any more of their garbage services.
ANYWAY, ever since Comcast took over in January 2007 my broadband service has been absolute trash. It flickers off and on all day, every day. I have called these morons multiple times and every single time they give me the "we're not showing any problems" run-around. I did get them to send out a tech once and he claimed he found a worn out component on the box attached to my building, which he supposedly replaced. Nothing changed, the service still goes out randomly all day, every day. I occasionally call these people to complain some more and when they ask what kind of modem I have, I tell them I bought my own top of the line modem/router gateway. Now that they know I own my own equipment they refuse to address the problem unless I pay a 50 dollar fee for not renting their stuff.
Now, this absolutely blows me away that in a city of a half a million people, they have ONE goddamn broadband cable provider. How about DSL you might ask? Qwest is in the city and handles most or all of the phone service I believe but they somehow have 1 or maybe 2 DSL hubs? It is incredible..
Anyway, I keep scouring the web for new companies that may come into the area but have had zero luck. Hopefully something, ANYTHING, will come along before I move in the fall of 2008, giving these Comcast douchebags money every month makes me want to shove a PC so far up their ass their face starts blinking. |
