I see that your PC's ethernet adapter is using a 10.45.0.178 IP address. this looks like an address assigned by the ISP, not the router. You need an IP address assigned by the router (something like 192.168.2.100) on your PC in order to use/access the router. Normally the router should obtain the 10.45.0.178 address from the ISP and assign it to its WAN interface as your public IP address, and then the router's built in DHCP server will assign 192.168.2.x addresses to PC's attached to the router. It will use 192.168.2.1 for its own loacal LAN address.
Try disconnecting the modem to router connection, reboot the router, then reboot the PC. Do another ipconfig and see if the router is assigning your PC a 192.168.2.x address. If not, perform a hard reset on the router and try again until your PC gets a valid local 192.168... address. At that point you should be able to get to the web interface on the router and can reconfig it.
Finally, reconnect the router to modem connection and reboot the modem, then router, then PC and see how it looks. -- "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler." - Albert Einstein

| reply to Wackster71 You are running a cable connection according to your OP. Yet there is info in the ipconfig showing data for a PPP adapter broadband connection. Whats that all about? Does your cable internet connection require PPP authentication and session management? If so, the router should be set up to perform that function.
The reason I ask is my cable provider does not use PPP (and most here in the US don't). They use a standard ethernet type connection with TCP/IP and DHCP. -- "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler."- Albert Einstein | |
