8x8 to be Promoted as VoIP Provider for Former SunRocket Customers

Packet8 residential, business and video Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone services provider, 8x8 (News - Alert), Inc., has announced the signing of an agreement with a service provider that will soon exit the VoIP market. The agreement calls for the exclusive recommendation of Packet8 as the replacement VoIP service for its soon-to-be-orphaned subscribers.
Under the terms of the agreement, Packet8 will be the only brand presented and promoted to the roughly 12,000 subscribers who will be without VoIP phone service once the company winds down its VoIP operations over the next three months.
In return, 8x8 will offer these subscribers a specially priced Packet8 monthly service plans along with a free month of service, free activation, free shipping and a free Uniden 165P 5.8 GHz cordless phone to transition to the company’s VoIP phone service.

~12,000 subscribers. That seems a little low for TB. OTOH, looking at TB's progress on picking up SR services it seems very likely that it is TB.

It might be TB, given the low customer numbers, and the retention problems they're facing.
but, it begs the question...if they're folding in 3 months, as the release states, why would they invest the time and money into re-doing the ex-SR customer portal, etc? that would be money better spent trying to bring in customers, or at least retain what you've got, and cut your losses.
what other low-volume VoIP providers are there? »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_co···roviders has a list, that has non-US providers listed, as well. plus, i'm sure this list is not complete, either (VT isn't on there)...
