ISDN "has no distance limits", supposedly. My parents are 15 miles out of town and have it and I'm 7 and have it. From verizon you want voisdn, I think.
I doubt verizon supplies the equipment. I've never heard of that before. Ebay is your best bet. I have Cisco 804s (me, my parents, my uncle) that I take care of, and its all I'll use. Netgears are often recommended as well as Netopia. Think sub-$50 shipped.
For an ISP you can spend $100/mo. if you want to... I spend $100/year though. I use localnet.com and they've been perfect (for me). Not all numbers support both channels, but both exchanges I use do just fine. You have to try it to see. I stay on 24x7 for weeks at a time. Others have used yahoo, earthlink, peoplepc etc., though some with limitations. |
