There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch

Basically - for those who have been stating that FiOS and Comcast are cheap....well, investors want to recoup on their investment.
'New' service is typically cheap until they can have a decent number of customers sign on. After that, its business as usual, and they'll charge as much as they can get away with. This is NO DIFFERENT than any other business strategy. Find the 'sweet spot' on pricing. Low enough to get as many customers as you can. High enough to make as much profit as you can with those customers w/o having them ditch the service for something else.

I don't have a problem with businesses expecting to have their costs meet their expenses. However, I DO have a problem with companies talking out of both sides of their mouths: "we won't raise prices" to municipalities, and then raising their rates anyway. They want the best of both worlds without having to pay for it.

The problem with that take is their 'legal' answer to that.

'We've lowered the cost on service the the per channel or per megabit level so you're getting more "value".'

We've added extra included cr@p (an extra HD channel or 2, tons of specialty programming like the knitting channel or the watching paint dry channel... So now, instead ot having 180 channels for $44.95, you have 220 channels for $52.. isn't that such a deal!?! We're not breaking any promises.

Now come on people.. get a clue.. How else to you expect them to pay for ALL those people you see in the commercial? However, I would be really worried if it took that MANY people just for one persons service. VZ is expensive in all areas of communications. Pay up or shut up. Money talks so if you don't like the price, go some where else. That will send a message to VZ. If you have no one else to turn to, sucks to be you.
