In reality, I am quite honored and humbled that a man of such a family history in the southern California area would take the time to read the articles I write and then join the website.....His name, Gino L. Filippi
For those of you who dont know of the family, the Filippi family, a part of the Guasti Family, came to the Inland Empire 140 years ago and brought wine cuttings with them from Italy...They flourished in this Mediterranean environment and by the 1930's the Filippi Family had opened several wineries, some of them that still exist today.
The J. Filippi Winery is one of the largest still open in the IE....In fact, one of there partners, The Pacific Wine Merchants have acquired the old Santa Fe Depot in Upland and turned the Depot into a wine tasting extravaganza. »www.insidetheie.com/uplands-old-···ot-new-h
So needless to say, I as a writer and I know the owner Randy is very happy with what is happening at the Magazine and thank all of you who continue to visit. »www.insidetheie.com/ -- My Bloggs, »www.insidetheie.com/ »earthlogii.blogspot.com/ »vietaffairsvets.blogspot.com/ Each Mans Death is his own Apocalypse. |

Ghost, I am guessing the Upland Metrolink station is former SP (now UP)? |

You're right, that line through Upland is former Santa Fe, it's owned by Metrolink now, and BNSF has trackage rights over it to serve several industries, including Kaisier, Miller Beer Plant in Irwindale and the City of LaVerne Water. |
