Sunbelt Kerio behind a router firewall for XP, just the router for Linux.

Good job on the poll, salzan .

ZoneAlarm 2.6.362 still performing beautifully under XP SP2. (Haven't tried it on Vista yet.) Anything newer is a bloated sack of protoplasm.

Increasingly, however, I've been leaving people on Windows Firewall as they still can't deal with outbound permissions.

Obviously, with laptops taking over the market and the increased use of public APs, firewalling is more important than ever; it's a good thing XP SP2's stock one is relatively safe and stable, if a bit annoying.

OpenBSD running as a PPPoE client and pf (Packet Filter) firewall.

Also implemented OSPF (via OpenOSPFD) in my network to router through different networks. Overkill, but it's my network

Linksys BEFSR81 Router - 6 computers attached to it.
• 3 XP computers - Zone Alarm Pro
• 2 XP computers - Windows XP Firewall
• Vista computer - Windows Vista Firewall (I feel vulnerable and exposed without Zone Alarm Pro on this computer and the free Zone Alarm is not an option at this time.)

Splendid work on the poll, salzan See Profile. Thank you.

Router + Kerio 2.1.5

Kerio 2.x is getting old though. I'm researching possible replacements as it does not work well with VMware Workstation 5/6 in Bridged networking mode.

As usual, a little late for the party.
Anyway, thanks for the excellent poll salzan See Profile !

Router with WinXP firewall.
Yep, that about sums it up for me.
I've used many of the 'fancy' Firewalls in the past, but just don't feel the need any more.

Of course, mileage may vary depending on the user...what ever makes you feel secure is the way to go, I suppose.

On one of my computers the Comcast supplied McAfee Security Suite works well and is all I need for it. The other is Windows Firewall.
