Hi All and thanks so much for your advice.. She is Has only ONE computer in the house,no other interferences... Before the second visit to Computer guy she did the search&destroy(spybot)...which found 8 things she destroyed...after that...the computer continued with popups...She called the CG and he said it has to be the server..She took her computer back (2nd)time and guy ck'd system and said yes there were two things still there..so he removed them said your computer is just like the day you bought it.He got on thier internet (verizon)(daughter-inlaw was standing there) and clicked when to different sites and No rouge popups!!!!! Told her its good to go...she came home hooked it up to TWC...and up poped a k-billion popups...again with all the download this download that...She just cried and turned off the computer..I have called her this morning and we are going to try all the helps that i found doing a google trojan-spy..I went to; »www.precisesecurity.com/adware-s···tswm.htm I hope this is the right site..I am super parnoid... This will be hard as neither of us are experienced computer persons...but it is worth a try... Will keep you posted...I wish we could try another computer just to see if its the server..but we dont have that option... |

| reply to stuckonstupid Just because it worked fine in this person's shop on his Verizon line doesn't mean she is free and clear. There are some underlying problems this "computer guy" is not seeing or wanting to dig a bit deeper to fix. He probably just did a recover install and did not reformat the drive, thereby leaving the original problem there. You need to invest in a good router and put it between the cable modem and computer. And find someone else to look at that computer. Someone who is reputable and knows what they are doing.
