Power Strip issues?

Hey Everone, Quick Question:

We kept losing connection at the cable modem, dropping all wireless/wired connections through the router. The ISP and myself thought the cable modem was on its way out. My mother-in-law decided to just to shut everything down and turn the power strip off. Well, it worked - after I purchased a new modem.

After trying the new modem, then connecting the old one back, we had the same issue, and turning off the power strip and back on solved the problem.

Do you think the power strip is bad, or pulling too much current?

Thanks,
Dubbemiah

I would recommend plugging the modem directly into a walloutlet.

If the modem stays active but the router drops, You can feel comfortable that the strip was the issue.
