"Vary from market to market"

In Los Angeles, Time Warner's speed varies from zip code to zip code! Some pay the $+10 add-on for extreme and get 8/512, others 10/1, and others still 15/2! What you get seems to depend most on Verizon Fios activity.

As for these NYC speed tiers, the 15 and 20mbps down sounds nice enough but the pricing would make much more sense if it was +$10 for 15/1 and +$25 for 20/2. 1mbps up is weak with that high a monthly price.

I suspect that's due to wether or not it was TimeWarner originally, Comcast or Adelphia.

Check the pricing differences -even locally (restricted to 8Mbps max here)
