I have a scenario maybe someone can explain to me.
I've had the same "indie" ISP since 1994,got DSL when it became available in 1998? or so.
3 or 4 years ago, I left for vacation,when I got to my destination I attempted to touch my home network,ck mail etc,but my home network was down,and stayed down all while I was gone.
When I got home I had no dsl,called my ISP,and they agreed that something was wrong,I called my local telco service,
after 3 different techs had come and checked all wiring,both inside and out,I was told that my phone line was "broken" as far as DSL usage was concerned and that I would have to tear down my existing account and start a new one and that the new account would run through an RT?.
They said that it be better,since I was too far from the CO and original DSL account should never have been setup in the first place.So,I have been on the RT since,nothing but secondary quality since.Can someone explain what changed in that 2 weeks I was gone??? |
