Re: Fix current issues before next upgrades..

said by BigRooster:

Fact: TW should fix their network issues period.

Fact: TW offers different speeds over all regions. Why? Good question.

I get good stable service from TW, but I can see how the two facts above can be very annoying; especially #1. I've had good results when talking with tech support to resolve an issue but I noticed I constantly had to keep reminding the techs that I did this or tried that - or else they'd, for some unknown reason, start at the beginning if my issue still wasn't fixed after a certain amount of time. The thing I don't understand is how so many people can compare TW to Verizon? If FiOS is avilable for you, then jump the (insert cable operator name here) ship and go to VZ. Until then, you're stuck with whatever service you currently have so you can either put up with it or ditch it and spend that $45 on something else.

Judging from a few comments to this article, it almost sounds like some ppl believe they're entitled to 100/100 (ok, exaggeration) or that FiOS speeds should be the norm. This is troubling because more often than not, somebody wants that bandwidth for $40/month - not to mention that FiOS itself has such a small footprint. Maybe this is a mentality of those who live in FiOS/OOL areas? At least 95% of the rest of the net users in the U.S. won't have fiber, or the next gen whatever, for a while (years?).

Granted 1mbit up is FAR from news - I agree that it'd be nice if ISPs would offer 10% of the download as upload (5/512, 10/1, 15/1.5 [2 for OOL], 20/2) but there is more at hand and at stake here unfortunately. The truth will come out in a few years when VZ, AT&T and other Telcos have their FTTN/FTTH/whatever deployed to a degree where customer satisfaction, internet/tv performance, etc etc can reliably be measured. And how will DOCSIS3.0 & other technologies fair?

For now, things are still in the planning/implementation stages.
DOCSIS3.0 will be

30/768 50/1.5 100/2
