| [OT] Going to Disney World in a few days..
My wife and I and some friends are going to Disney in a few days. While my wife tolerates my obsession with Disney, I thoroughly enjoy the place.
I love to check out websites to see if I have missed something about the place and to check on any new rides, attractions or shows..
I came across something I find quite funny, this line about Examples of unacceptable attire..
While some are obvious, this one struck me as funny.. ~Guests wearing wedding attire are discouraged from entering the Theme Parks
Anyone have any idea why??
I can understand this one though, it might confuse some children... ~Adult costumes or clothing that can be viewed as a costume (children under age 10 are excluded) -- RIAA/MPAA... Bite me!!!! Death Penalty for parking violations! Don't hit the kids!! No seriously, they have guns now! |

| reply to jwersan Wedding attire can possibly be confused as "costumes", too, and people would think you're employees of the park, maybe? Or, they're trying to discourage the whole "marriage" concept in modern America. It only leads to breeding behaviors and creates more little critters, that eventually become a nuisance to park employees.
Hope you have a great time, John... say HI to Goofy for me! In the meantime, I'll visit Dizzyland instead, in your honor. |

| reply to jwersan Enjoy your trip pal. A few people I know who are going down there for a week at a time have been renting house's close to there instead of spending the high priced money that Disney charges for hotels. I'm hearing about price ranges from $700 to $1000 a weeks, that includes screened in pools, game rooms 2 to 4 bedrooms and more. the only downside is you have to rent a car and travel a few miles. Have fun! -- The NYS Adventurous Traveling Beaver wants to visit YOU! The Beavers Homepage |

Where have you been living, under a rock!
Enjoying Disney as an adult requires that you let your inner child take control..
My wife has a LARGE child on her hands while I am there, and I have finally cracked her to actually letting go and enjoying herself too, hence our requirement to visit "It's A Small World". -- RIAA/MPAA... | reply to TrainBuff said by TrainBuff :Adults have more fun there then kids. This is what most people don't realise about why Walt Disney built Disneyland in the first place.
One day Walt Disney had a vision. It was a vision of a place where children and parents could have fun together.
As Walt Disney sat at a bench, at an amusement park, watching his daughters play, he noticed how ragged and filthy the small amusement park was. He also observed people's reactions to different rides, and noticed how children's parents had nothing to do. They would be anxious to go home, while their children were still having fun, and playing.
This is where Walt was conjuring, and planning a new type of amusement park; one that would be clean, and would have attractions for parents and children together. This was Walt Disney's idea, which eventually turned to be Disneyland.
Thus Disneyland was born.
Disneyworld is more than just the theme parks, there are a lot of things you can do at Disney without ever setting foot in one of the theme parks.. -- RIAA/MPAA... Bite me!!!! Death Penalty for parking violations! Don't hit the kids!! No seriously, they have guns now! |
