FINALLY

said by VZ_Gustavo See Profile :

The ticket has been updated, and it looks like some equipment has been changed out. You should have been contacted once that was completed.

Re: Philadelphia / Tiling on CN, TBS

I'm in shock, a sign of progress. Readings are now being forwarded to the "video network group," whatever that is. Sounds like it's finally out of the hands of the unresponsive local manager. Probably going to run into the same thing again - no updates for another week

Noping-
If you want another contact with VZ, let me know. He'll let you out of the ETF.

He cleared up my $1240 STB bill last month.
Jeep, a $1240 STB bill AFTER you canceled the service and returned the equipment???

How many months ago was that??

Holey Shat, they're still at it.

I would have thought they would have tried improving their billing system since they dinged me for $1380 last April.

Problem was that I didn't cancel my service, I still had the boxes, and they were still on the account and in use when they tried to charge me for stealing them.

WTF Verizon ???

It's been over a week. No response from the local Verizon manager. Gustavo claims that he can't get in contact with him. They have made virtually no effort to resolve this problem in a timely manner.

Emails have been re-sent. No response.

Tiling continues.

I've compiled a small list of some of the problems with the TV service I've had since March 2007, all of which I plan to bring up with billing tomorrow as I (once again) try to get out:

general VOD tiling - fixed with new ONT
all services up and down for three days - fixed with new ont(s) and bbu...after three days
random loss of channels - fixed
HBO VOD "white tiling" - still awaiting fix, "coming soon"
loss of all services for 24h+ - Verizon computer error, new ONT installed
tiling on all channels, summer '07 - ?
(lack of) "customer support" - in particular, passing the buck*
tiling since fall 2007 - this thread
DVR - no sound
Let this serve as a warning to prospective FiOS TV customers in West Chester: Shit sucks in this area, don't bother. Get DTV, Dish or even Comcast and be happy. You'll have more luck herding cats or winning the lottery than getting someone to fix your service when it's broken.

*power company agrees - it's not a problem here

but my kids are currently obsessed with new Video Games
I know I've mentioned it, but Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction = best game for the PS3 until MGS4, IMO - the PS3 here wasn't doing anything useful except for folding until this came out.

Gustavo has no answers for me. Apparently, the "field supervisor" has the readings but cannot be contacted - instant redirect to voicemail.

Tiling now occurs on Spike TV (54) - more than just a "tick," more than just a simple horizontal "bar." I'm still in the process of writing more emails (if anyone has any additional emails of contacts within Big Red who can push things along, please let me know).

Well, I'm still seeing it, and it seems to be getting worse, again.

I'm still getting no response from Verizon about what they're going to do about it or what came out of the technician visit the other day when he forwarded the readings to the FSC.
noping, I have seen the occasional 'tick' in the video, but my kids are currently obsessed with new Video Games that they got for Christmas, so I haven't had much time to watch the TV.

A Verizon technician unexpectedly showed up on Monday afternoon - a visit was not scheduled, saw his truck just as I was pulling into the garage. Took readings from both boxes and the ONT (still very good, only pre-bit errors). Trouble ticket was closed "as is protocol after a dispatch" (according to Gustavo).

So nothing new, no real progress. Tiling continues and I'm still in the progress of writing an email detailing the problem to the contact Jeep mentioned...if anyone else has any ideas on who else to contact to nudge Verizon along, I'd love to hear them.
I'll be honest, I haven't seen the problem at all lately. I watched TBS, Boomerang, and CN for some good stretches over the last several days, and I haven't seen so much as a flash of tiling. Still interested in hearing where things go with this - please keep us posted.

Re: Philadelphia / Tiling on CN, TBS

OK folks the trolling and comments need to stop.

Posting as an ANON doesnt help either, and usually everyone can see right thru the ANON just by the comments.

So lets all take a deep breath and check the emotions at the Door

Quick post since I'm heading out for the day -

FSC called, they said they're going to have someone check the CO - if they see nothing, they're going to insist on sending another technician out.

K, if you're seeing a problem, please report it...they think that the problem's been fully resolved in this area, it's no longer a "group" issue, it's an "individual" issue.

Jeepmat,I never mentioned comcast

(God, this is just another reason to say F the 1-month trial and just move to Comcast. This Philly tiling crap is rediculous).

I thought you never mentioned comcast
