In a court of law you really can't assume. So just because she replaced the hard drive is in no way an admittance of guilt.

To the contrary, the law has a doctrine known as "spoliation of evidence" which provides that, if a party destroys evidence, the jury may assume that the evidence was unfavorable to the party who caused the destruction.
