Re: Vonage Horror Stories

I had them for over 3 years without too many problems. Wife approval factor was one reason I switched to CallVantage. The billing issue I had with them put me over the edge. I won't repost it since I discussed it earlier, Just beware of their billing.

I stay with Vonage because the quality and uptime is better than my AT&T phone line. It also has a lot more features and is less expensive.

I was with Vonage for two years +. I put up with lower call quality because it saved me over 25 bucks a month.
I get superb quality with Vonage, more often then not, your quality depends on the quality of the broadband connection that you have, which is independent of your VOIP provider unless they are one in the same.
imho, that's ppl no understanding where problem is coming from: voip needs a high speed, and it's better be a good one: 200k up/down with 100% QOS and low (like 50ms) latency.
any lower on speed (reliable speed), or latency kicking 100+ and you will have problems.

200 out of 2 000 000 customers isn't that bad.
6066 complaints on the BBB site is kinda bad for vonage

I think the message to any potential buyer of Vonage is clear:

Buy the network and technology, most customers are satisfied with their service as long as they don't have to talk to a human bean at Vonage

Do a clean sweep of all employees and start from the ground up with a fresh perspective and focus on a genuine, honest, action oriented customer service product.

Going on two weeks with no phone service yet! Promises and ticket #'s up the yin yang. Great conversations. I feel like I paid a hooker, she'll accommodate but fails to respond.
