Re: [General] Any compelling reason to stay with SBC vs DSL extr

Can't answer the first part of your question I'm partial to DSLX since I have their service.

I opted for Express change over. They say it takes 3 days, however I went to sleep with my AT&T connection and woke up on DSLX the change over happen very quickly. Once my new service was up I canceled AT&T. I used the same line for my install. If you choose to go the Express change over make sure you don't cancel your AT&T service until your new service is up and running otherwise it will delay your order by something like 2 weeks I heard.

[General] Any compelling reason to stay with SBC vs DSL extreme?

I'm looking to drop my monthly bill. In the past whenever my contract was up I'd call and get the retention dept and upgrade to the next level. Now I'm at the elite level and though the rate is okay ($35/mo) I really don't need that speed.

DSL Extreme's prices are $5.00/mo cheaper than AT&T when the full year is paid in advance (Pro speed for $19.95) so I'm considering going with them.

Question
- any compelling reason I should stick with AT&T for my DSL service?
- I have 3 phone lines at the house. Should I get DSL Extreme started up new on a different line, then cancel AT&T or do I dare try the "upgrade with no downtime" link on DSL Extreme's website and risk having down time?

Thanks for your guidance.

Dave
