My service is down and get a DNS error when I try to ping broadvoice.com from DSLX. |

I thought I was going crazy when I had just made a small change on my Trixbox server and then all of a sudden my links were down. Bad timing. I hope its just an upgrade in progress. Wish they would notify us when that happens. |

| reply to hok sip.broadvoice.com isn't resolving, so I edited my PAP2's config to point to the ip 147.135.0.128
Try to use that IP or if you're using asterisk, put this line in /etc/hosts
147.135.0.128 sip.broadvoice.com
Someone must have forgotten to register their domain, or they seriously messed up their DNS servers. |

| reply to hok Their name servers aren't responding; thanks for the IP address info. Definitely down for me too; thanks to the folks who posted - since we lost our landline service this afternoon too, I was starting to wonder if we were just having a really bad technology day. |

If there is something better I will use it.
Last evenings issue was a hosed DNS server. The IP address was pingable. |

| reply to hok I have a 770 area code number and callers get a "this number is not in service or this number has been disconnected" message. Outgoing working find and inbound on my other numbers are fine.
When I called support about it the first thing they asked was "is this a 770 area code" before I even gave them the account info.... |

| reply to hok I think I've found the real explanation. Looks like ATT cut off GNAPS. You can view the documents at the Georgia Public Service Commission Website. It is under docket number 12921. The GPSC supported the decision of ATT. What is happening now is Broadvoice is in a scramble to port all these numbers that were affected to someone else.
I've attached a PDF from Bellsouth dated Sept 28th that explains their side of the story...
Looks like GNAPS owes people a LOT money. |
