End of an era at Six Flags

Look the the Wildcatter ride (a.k.a Texas Cliffhanger) has been demolished. I remember riding that ride 5 times on a 'Physics day' in High school. Oh well, it looks like they are putting a fun ride in its place.

This ride is a part of one of my greatest memories at Six Flags. Many years ago, me, my cousin, and my then 9 and 6 year old boys (now 25 and 22) rode the Cliffhanger for the first time. My 6 yo was the most excited, couldn't wait to get on the ride. As we ascended up the tower, he stared forward, watching as the ground pulled away. Just as we hit the top, and the car locked in and began to move forward, he looked at me and said "I think I'd like to get off now." I just looked at him and said "OK..in about 3 seconds." He closed his eyes and held on tight all the way down!!

I only got to ride it once. I'm 28 years old and have been to six flags maybe 10 or so times that I can remember.

I've been to Six Flags several times over the past decade or so, and it always seemed like that ride wasn't working. It was either under repair or inclement weather was keeping it from running.

It was fun when it did work, though.
