Cogeco's Bitcap makes front page.

The main page is now reporting on our situation with the Cogeco bitcap, make sure you post your thoughts (against or in favor) because with the amount of traffic this site gets I'm sure it will get some attention.

@cgocable.net

One of the american's responding to that article (in which the cogeco source was misleading) mentioned something I missed. Cogeco advertises always on. Now they should add 'assuming you haven't gone over your cap'. The ad should say it's possible it may always be on.

Now that network technician source said "If you're transferring tons of traffic you should probably move to a more appropriate package (ie: doing 100GB/mo on a Lite package)." That is misleading. No persons on the lite package can transfer 100GB/month. They'd have been disconnected making them a non always on customer long before reaching those numbers.

Thanks for the ad hominem attack on users that pay for services from a company that provides you employment, Chainzz. We pay your bills, we feed your kids. At this point, I can't wait for my DSL modem to arrive. Unprofessional oaf.

Wow asshole, thanks for further showing us how Cogeco feels about their paying customers. Nail them down with a crappy bitcap then come on here and insult them!

Wow this jerk is actually a Cogeco employee?!

You will see how much I pay for Cogeco when I cancel all my services. I will be sure to specifically mention your account on this forum when I tell them why I decided to cancel everything instead of downgrading to a cheaper package and getting a DSL connection to supplement it.

Uhh...

I know personally that a few complainants on here are probably older than you are. I'm late 20's and pay for my parents internet. I don't know that you have a grasp on your customer base, but such comments make you look like a child and detract from your employer's (Cogeco) image.

So this is a typical response on what Cogeco thinks of people complaining about screwing over their customers.
This whole thing about bitcaps is clearly a money grab.
I don't care if Cogeco employees come on here saying no no it isn't.
Well then why is it your told to upgrade your pkg t a higher costing pkg.
They saw their was an chance to make more money and they took it.
And I am not a kiddie I pay for Cogeco but that will b changing soon.
Guess you've never complained once in your short life.
Chainzz you should get a job in customer service because you really know how to deal with customer.
You dipshit

Never expected a quote like this from an employee. Really puts a bad image on Cogeco. Too bad you've lost your cool unlike Krispy See Profile whose been reasonable in the whole debate.

Should it really matter who complains? You realize that most adolescences now a days know a lot more about the internet as a whole than their parents do. You do realize this means that when these so adolescences put together an argument such as losing internet access, or getting charged for going over, or cheaper DSL, parents will probably listen?

When a parent hears "more money with one company" when they can "pay less with another company" what do you think they will do? Obviously they will look into it.

It's also worthwhile to mention that not everyone one these boards are adolescences. You make it seem like everyone who makes a post against Cogeco is a 10 year old.

How else do you expect customers who have had service for 5-10 to feel if only just now they're being cut off the network for what was once considered reasonable usage, even by the guys in network security? Think about it for a minute, and then answer. In the mean time, if you're going to be an immature moron and give the other Cogeco techs in here a bad name through your own piss-poor attitude, I suggest you back off now. Remember, all of DSLR is watching this. You just made a real idiot of yourself.

Also too, I have mixed feelings about the bit caps but I am sorry, most companies are doing this now, just thank god they don't charge per gb like other utilities charge for their product. I use my fair share, but rarely go over the cap simply because I don't have the time. And once again, I am sorry for that remark but it sometimes sounds like children in here. I never meant to offend anyone...

Also too, I never once said this was how Cogeco felt, Cogeco does care what people think, however they do what they need to do from a business standpoint.

What could you possibly have been irritated about in this thread before you made that comment, Chainzz? No one here had complained about anything. Post #1, noted BBR has Cogeco on the main articles page. #2 mentioned a post from the BBR article and #3 responded to #2. You rang in with post #4 mad about?

Umm, okay, I'm a bit lost. Everyone in these latest forums who reported not being able to access the internet due to suspension really could? They didn't make themselves clear? They lied?

I just assumed they told the truth. They had service suspended and could not access the internet hence they did not have service on. That would mean, to me anyway, that Cogeco is not always on. But again, mabye I misread the last two-weeks of posts, enlighten me, please.

You know what, dsl report days are over for me. Like seriously, I said one bad thing and I apologized. I do not feel that I have to explain myself further.

How can I go back on what I said?

Goodnight!

The network is always on, maybe not your connection. Also too, let me get this straight....they are just cutting the connection with no warning? Have you had previous warnings?

My connection is always on (barring outages). I never recieved a warning. I didn't go over caps to recieve a warning. I was simply stating my opinion regarding Cogeco policy and advertising and defending the right of others to speak and asking a question.

I don't think I said anything imflammatory, nothing to send you away from the forums (unless a question does that to you) so I'll assume you meant that first responce to the topic and not myself.
