Remote Question

I just wondering how can u tell if a remote is active? lately i been keeping track of a few new ones by my house. Seen expert Techs working on them awhile ago but there were still quite when u would listen to them. Last night on my way home i stopped by a few and u could hear them humming like it was on. Just wondering if that means they are active?

Even though a remote may be switched on, it may not be active for service yet. Sometimes there's a delay before they move over lines to the remote or it may take a bit of time to run the fiber from the central office.

That isnt necessarily any remote, that could just be a Jumper Wire Interface (JWI), they contain no electronics and there could be many on one street.

Remotes are typically larger, and some are half-buried in the ground and are small buildings the size of a single car garage., C-SLAMS are often tall 4x4 square light beige things and are near JWI's
