A little debug 'thing' for the next version of the script. FYI-I just installed Rev6.

For me, the failure others have noted when going to 'previous month' or going from previous month to current month, is due to the script not catching the entire site id. When I go to that hyperlink "previous months usage" or from that page to "current month's usage, the script changes the month OK, but only populates the first character of the site id.

Again, thanks for another tool to help keep the FAP police on the other side of town!!

All that and 5 bucks will get you a Starbucks!!

I'm wondering about someone you uses 10-20MB more than their bucket every single day. They would eventually trigger the FAP after a few weeks with this scheme and it may not be as obvious to such a user why they were FAP'ed when their usage pattern has been the same. --- I guess this would be an exception, though. Who uses the same bandwidth day in/day out.

I have the idea that there is an UL bucket (smaller than the DL bucket), but that when it is emptied UL's count against the DL bucket. Don't ask me for proof of that! Something that sticks in my mind from some page I stumbled upon back when, but which didn't stick well enough to find it again... :)

It ain't easy, but knowing where you were two hours ago, and keeping track of what you've done since then, can give you a pretty good Idea of what you still have left.

I haven't seen enough data about UL usage to know whether it's counted or not. My calculations seem to be fairly accurate without it. My script has predicted that I slightly exceeded FAP without actually being FAP'ed on two occasions. It's obviously not perfect, there's no way to distinguish between usage occurring at the beginning of the hour vs near the end of the hour. There's also rounding errors and the fact that small amounts of usage (< 0.5MB) are omitted from the usage page. Therefore, how much of that usage was refilled and whether or not the bucket is full at the end of the hour cannot be known for certain.

My qualm here is that my own calculation shows me currently within 30MBs of FAP, while your monitor has me at 370MB. I have been doing a pretty consistent, but low, rate of UL for several days. I would like to believe your calculation, but am hesitant to test it. I hate to get FAP't. It tends to ruin my day... :)

Despite the fact that looking at the source code tends to give me a headache, I guess I'm going to have to do that in order to understand your method of calculation.

It's too bad we don't know exactly the parameters that Hughes uses in their calculation. That would make things so much easier.

The script was a brilliant idea and the presentation is equally brilliant. Thank you very much for this gift!

Updated the script to revision 4.

Now you can set the refill/recovery rate as well as the bucket size (download threshold). Also, the changes take effect immediately, no longer requiring you to reload the page.

It looks like you got the home plan correct. But I posted it before, I have downloaded with 50 kbps recovery rate on pro plan and never got fapped. The threshold is NOT a 24 hour limit. Hughes does not claim that and also (except India tier 1) TS and billing will tell you that.
So you can easy download over 400 MB a day (21 hour) on pro plan for as long as you want and you get not fapped. (but again thats only true when you are not triggering one of the errors in hughes implementation ;))

Looking at the usage data posted here (along with my own FAP experiences) confirms this fact:

The first test was done without having been Fapped for a month and no usage in the last 24hrs. Looking carefully at the data, I noticed that there was a gap between 3am-6am in the second data set... the FAP free zone! Recalculating the first data set to include the FAP free zone demonstrates that the recovery rate is about 15.6MB/hr for BOTH tests. Therefore, unless I missed something, these are the new FAP parameters:

Or you can try the following:

Option 1:
Visit last month's usage page again. This should clear up any invalid persistent data.

Option 2:
Type "about:config" in the location bar.
Enter "direcpc" in the Filter field.
Right click on each entry and choose "Reset"

Select and copy the code. Open "Organize Bookmarks" in Firefox. Click "New Bookmark". In the Location field: paste the code. Replace "XXX" with your site-id. Give the bookmark a name.

Which modem do you have? If you have a DW6000 or higher, the proxy is on port 87 (»Satellite Forum FAQ »What browser proxy settings should I use with the DW6000? ). If you have a DW4000, you can also try port 85 (»Satellite Forum FAQ »Is there anything I can do to improve the performance of the DW4000 proxy server ). The "Server not found" error sounds like a DNS problem. Try again later or with a different domain.
