Hi (from metric .. at the beginning of the thread)

Clarifying a little.. I imagine that your first thoughts of a p2p speed test are different than mine. I'll share a little more so you can further disagree or agree.

If ISP "A" sees he's rated bottom of the heap in the p2p category.. and realizes that ALL his market can see that as well, through publicly available information, he might think he can get a few more customers from ISP "B" by offering a p2p enabled product offering at a profitable price.

Regarding the p2p speed test implementation..
Imagining again.. a Java app that uses p2p protocols to download from 40 or 50 sites that currently host existing speed tests.. and posts results at a popular place.. like Broadband.com. It could be possible. Alternatively, the swarm could be free and self sustaining or a combo of fixed and free peers.
