DSL setup question

So I just activated my Teksavvy. Don't know if I should post here for some DSL setup questions. Please move to another thread if it's not belong to here.

1) I setup my Speedtouch 516 to Bridge mode and connected to the my router. Setup MTU in both to 1492. Do I have to set my other PCs connected to the router as well or it will be OK?

2) Do I HAVE to connect to the modem directly in order to use DMT or any other way to do it via the router?
Try to connect to modem directly with no success. I think it's probably that I can't get an IP since it's in Bridge mode. Don't want to reset the modem and set up again just to use DMT.

3) I have installed filters on all outlets with phones connected. However there's security dialer in the basement with the wire spliced to connect to a junction block. I probably need to put a filter in between. However, correct me if I'm wrong, the security dialer won't be activated and dialed out (unless a break in). Do I still need a filter since it's not used? Same thing goes to the fact that no filters need if no phones used in house.

So far my line is quite stable at 3.5M download. I know I might have look at the line stat to see if I need the extra filter.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Bicephale. I got this STMT installed but couldn't get it to connect. Tried the 76.xx and 206.xx ips with no luck. I could ping my 76.xx no problem. Wondering what's wrong though.

And anybody has answers for the other question.

THX.

Hi Jo,

I thought nobody would be curious enough to ask...

Here's what i'd suggest you try, this should work:

Home > Toolbox > Remote Assistance

1st enable Remote Assistance!  If it's unavailable
then you might have to return to factory settings:

Home > SpeedTouch > Configuration > Reset

Take notes while on the Remote Assistance page and
type these few TelNet CLI commands, starting with:

service system ifadd name=PING_RESPONDER group=wan
service system modify name=PING_RESPONDER state=enabled
saveall

Being "Pingable" is probably required but i didn't
attempt to verify it, though i testify that what's
next is absolutely mandatory so don't forget this:

service system ifadd name=TELNET group=wan
service system modify name=TELNET state=enabled
saveall

Now, if the Remote Assistance page is available it
means that the TelNet CLI would also be accessible
but i don't use an external router so i leave this
matter for others to clear out.  Remember that the
GUI is sercure (HTTPS) but TelNet isn't and that's
why the default duration is set to twenty minutes.
