Note that the OP said he was with VP for three years. Now all plans have an activation fee. The only deal you can get is a 'competitive upgrade' if you are already with a major VoIP and switch to VP's $24.99 plan. You get $50.
But don't let the $29.99 activation fee stop you. The service is well worth it. Consider the $14.99 plan, since the 'local calling area' is your area code and all adjacent area codes (in most cases).
