If only with commercial disks, it could be related to the dreaded DRM (digital rights management) copy protection. After the disk is run, it may try to prevent you from accessing it. If it happens with all disks, including ones without DRM such as home videos, you might consider reinstalling the software, if it started after an upgrade to the software you might consider going back to an earlier version of the program until they fix the bugs in the newer version.
