Atlanta, GA | [game] Shirts variant "Up in smoke" The room was in shambles. Playing cards on the floor, a bottle of Courvoisier. lay on it’s side next to the body, a dagger in the back. Another blade is planted firmly in the door. Whatever happened, it was fast, and confusing.
There were four people here, with the evidence in the ashtrays. While their choice of Brandy is questionable, their cigars are not; Bolivar, Quintero, Fonseca, and Vegueros.
One of these blunts belongs to the killer, but who is it?

Setup
Attribute
A cigar.
Each player knows his attribute.
There is exactly one mafia scum who committed the act. He also knows of one attribute which will not be claimed by any other player.
There is exactly one sane witness who can identify the mafia attribute.
There is exactly one delusional witness who thinks sh/she knows the Mafia attribute, but actually knows the sane witnesses' attribute.
The witnesses do not know if they are sane or delusional.

Rules
- Out of thread communication is prohibited. If you are contacted outside of the forum about the game, please let me know.
- Posting your role text is not allowed.
- Ambiguous hints are allowed.. best paraphrased from the above URL:
"However, it is usually forbidden to hint (rather than fully claim) a color. For example, you may not say "my shirt is/is not one of the color's of the rainbow"; or in a game with US States: "I am from the South". Claims such as this make it impossible for the Murderer to construct a fake claim and if hinting is allowed the Witnesses will always win."
Note
In this variant, four attributes are listed. The forth is the optional fake claim for the mafia to eliminate an inconsistent fake-claim. The mafia will be told of the unused attribute, as "at their disposal".

Well it is pretty confusing when it is a SHIRTS game and the last game was a CAR game....
well you know what... it doesn't make it much of a fight because I didn't know how to play it last time... and I still don't... sorry.
I had two cars to say anything about... it seems to me like the ONLY way to win is for the mafia to come in first and say something he has...
If mafia doesn't come on first... it seems like he is screwed. |

will explain how to do it as mafia.
you have a choice of which 2 to chose from, you can either:
pony up and say you saw one that someone else has (not saw) or say you saw the one the mafia had, and carry the one that is the extra.
here is why: using this game for an example.
navy has fonseca saw a Vegueros --sane
muz has a bolivar, saw a fonseca--insane
reds stated he saw a Vegueros. repeated one already seen--mafia.
navy has fonseca saw a Vegueros --sane
muz has a bolivar, saw ??? saw a fonseca--insane
reds stated he saw a quintero makes it more difficult.

kudos:5 | Another strategy is to be bold and BS your way through it.
E.g., navy says he saw a Vegueros, Bigreds can come in and go nuts, "No way! you're lying, I saw the Vegueros, you have to be mafia" and vote for him... then it becomes a test of who can be more convincing to the second witness.

OK I figured out what happened... i read my role PM too fast...
You are mob. you have a Vegueros and a Quintero is at your disposal.
I missed the IS after Quintero....
So if it is read as
"you have a Vegueros and a Quintero at your disposal."
I read that as I didn't know which one was the real one that was seen and the fake one... that is why I was so confused when I saw that everyone else had claimed already. |
