I was about to squeeze in my post that I could swear video capturing was present in v7 and if they had removed it in v8. I don't have SnagIt installed anymore. I am usually not this ignorant about applications I use(d), lol. I know I used video capture in v7 and never in v8...*oh well*

Anyway, Jing does seem like a nice concept exactly what one would want. I just dislike having it on top of screen.
richter35 : :D They really put themselves into this one. It's great utility. We use it at uni. It saved my bacon many times. It's such pain to show every professor how to manage WebCT account and for students to use it...so after ages of giving individual instructions we managed to convince the Boss (dean) to purchase this little gem. Recorded everything and put it for download. It's faster and easier. :p And they can repeat it until they drop dead if they forget something. We also tend to record some conferences with prof. from abroad and make it available to students. So it's really nice.

It's too expensive for individual user though. Sometimes I wish to just record something when someone asks "How to..." instead of posting screenshots and writing pages of text.

I hope TechSmith implements some basic recording features to SnagIt.
