Cool to see such a relatively "small" school participating. -- Petty people are disproportionably corrupted by petty power

Where I work at, we supposedly have a pair of OC lines for a total of 20Gb of sustained transfer. An edge router and peering algorithm takes care of which packet sputters off to where. On days when the regular Internet is congested and slow, firing up FTP or WWW to a University hosting the files I need usually sees them coming down the pipe as fast as it can squeak through the edge, ATM loop between two buildings on a GBIC fired link can do. On bad days? about 10-15mb/sec transfer rate direct to my personal workstation. Good days you may peak at about 85% of what a full duplex 100mb Ethernet on copper can do for you. (We still have to play nice with other network traffic that is aggregated in switch closets on the way to and from that fiber loop and edge router. ;3 )
Edit: Grammatical shiznat - never notice them until you post, eh?
