KrKHeavy Artillery For The Little GuyPremium join:2000-01-17 Tulsa, OK | Skype is an interesting idea but... ...ebay made a bad investment. They paid a lot of money for a service that doesn't make much money, period. To buy it and then expect massive revenue gains wasn't realistic. |

Also, I think most clients on ebay really dont want called all hours of the day. I wouldn't.....
I have had Skype for about a year and I am very happy. Some lag from time to time and dropped calls. But not enough to look else where. I have both Skype in and out. -- Thermaltake 2000a/Asus P4C-e/p4 3.4/ocz3500 2x512/WD.2x200g/raptor2x74 raid 0/ATI 9600/APC sua 1500/Logitech z-680/ Samsung 213t LCD/MX 1000 |

| Skype has potential... and it's not like I'm knocking Skype here... but ebay shelled out a ton of dough, and now is upset because Skype hasn't made huge revenue gains. Buying Skype and expecting short term gains was naive IMHO.
"Duh..." is kind of the way I see this one. Skype is all about making things cheaper for consumers, hell, even free or as close to it as possible. That hardly sounds like a plan to make a massive growth in revenue....
Long term, lots of potential. Big profits now? Not likely. -- "Regulatory capitalism is when companies invest in lawyers, lobbyists, and politicians, instead of plant, people, and customer service." - former FCC Chairman William Kennard (A real FCC Chairman, unlike the current Corporate Spokesperson in the job!) |

The only ones who made a good "investment" were said by KrK:...ebay made a bad investment. They paid a lot of money for a service that doesn't make much money, period. To buy it and then expect massive revenue gains wasn't realistic. the ones at the other end who sold Skype to Ebay. |
