I think he was talking about the company itself rather than the individual employee. Yes, it's never a good thing when someone loses their job, but AOL, as an entity, needs to die already.

I'd show sympathy...but AOL is a business that should've long been dead already. The writing was way beyond just being on the wall at this point. I'm personally running short finding sympathy for folks just entering such a flimsy work atmosphere, or haven't taken their years of pay to look for a job with a future.
