My address is Rockville because the post office that serves me is within Rockville city limits. But my home, and the Verizon office that serves me (the one on Montrose Road), are both outside Rockville city limits. Lucky me!

I also just switched to FiOS Internet/TV from that other provider whose name starts with a C. Before deciding I spoke with at least three other neighbors who have FiOS. None of them had any complaints. One neighbor said someone came by just to explain how to use the remote and on-screen guide.

If I were a Rockville resident, I'd do more than just wait. I'd ask the mayor and council what the hold-up is. Prior to the last election, Don Libes published the candidates' views on FiOS in Rockville. You can read their replies here: »libes.com/don/blog/2007/11/candi···eak.html

Of course, not all of 'em got elected, but you can see the elected officials here: »www.rockvillemd.gov/government/mc/index.htm

Why not grab a bunch of your neighbors and drop-in on an upcoming meeting? »www.rockvillemd.gov/government/m···dar.html
