Cartoon Network get rid of Bleach on AS?

As the title states, is CN cancel running the Bleach shows? The next two weeks they replaced it with Death Note. I'm all for new anime but why cancel Bleach at this time and keep Blood+? Or for that matter, get rid of the Ghost in the shell reruns, push Bleach and Blood back a half an hr and show Death Note. Guess I can suck it up and catch up my magna collection on Bleach but it was just getting to the end of the current arc so I'm hoping this is short term and not a long term thing.

Oh and for the schedule: »www.adultswim.com/schedule/index.html

I agree, but bleech wasn't slowing down where Blood+ has and Ghost in the shell is on repeats. They could have picked a better show to remove. My guess is that this is temporary. The AS during the week is playing through Bleach right now and guessing on where they are at right now they will finish the last shown episode will play the friday before a potential new Bleach. AS likes to do that from time to time...

SON of a b*tch! Man I was really waiting for that next bleach episode too...

I'm already caught up on the manga, in fact I've had to hold back so I didn't get too far

....now that I've calmed down, thanks for the heads up on Death Note. I'm glad they're coming out with new stuff..just wish it wasn't as the expense of my fav show.

Are you only watching it dubbed?

yeah, I basically record it during the week and I get a few hours on sunday morning to watch it while taking care of my son.

I know there are other "avenues" to get it, I just like my TV alot

and actually I like the voice acting, the guy doing Ichigo was the same guy who did Vash the Stampede...used to be a power ranger lol

The dubs are pretty good. I'm just an impatient guy... What episode are they at in the dubs? You to the bantu (?) arch?

Great decision. Death note is a lot better than bleach.

That's debatable - it's all in your tastes I guess. Though the dub for DN is FAR better so far than Bleach IMO.

Bleach, as far as the AS played one, is finally at the GOOD part, THAT'S what ticks me off about the switch.

As for DN - the start is cool, and I enjoyed the series, but it goes downhill quick AFAIC. The ending was horrible.

My guess is AS's license was for that many episodes, or they're moving it to weeknights, since it's playing there now.

I agree. Up until L's death. It was a great show. He died too easily. The ending in the movie was much better.

That's exactly why I can't stand AS, and no longer watch it... they keep jumbling things. Why can't they just stick to a format? Between that, reruns and commercials. I wont watch it.

No Bleach due to lack of Dubs!

The lack of bleach is due to a very simple fact. NOTHING beyond volume 7 has been released. Volume 8 is not due until 2008. See the VIZ website.

The broadcast ends where the dubbed series ends. That's it.

While I watch the fansubbed current series, I did watch the dubbed series on CN/AS I just re-watched all the episodes that ended the arc fansubbed.

There are not plans for anything beyond volume 8 supposed to set for release in 2008 on any anime related site, and it's not even mentioned on the VIZ site.

CN/AS needs at least 25 episodes in the can to be able to broadcast it. IF (and that's a big if) volume 8 is released, they need plans for quite a few more.....

IMHO: Bleach is set to reruns for a least a year.

Oh well... thanks to eDonkey, I have every subbed episode, and get the new ones each week as the subbed versions are released. I also found a great site for the translated manga, also generally released weekly... I'm really digging the this new arc!

While I'm happy with that to a point, (I REALLY hate the dub) it just sucks that this is where they run it to. If Viz IS canning it, that really sucks. because the story really only starts to get good at this point. The beginning is slow.

I have to say, so far, I'm really enjoying the dub. Each voice seems to be done really well, even L - which I feared hearing the most. Too bad Viz didn't put this much effort into fitting the voices for Bleach. (I'm an old-school Viz fan, they've usually hit well with dubs)

Correction to prior statements

I am going to correct myself.

Volume 7 of Bleach DVD was just released, this week. It is only up to episode 28 *there are only 3 episodes per DVD* I thought that there might be 4 or 5 -- stupid of me.

This means that VIZ's production department actually has up to episodes 50 already made, but doesn't want to flood the market with Season 2 while they are trying to get everyone to buy the box set of Season 1.

Again, this is silly marketing on their part. In Japan, if you take a series like NANA at the end of each show, they presented what was the latest merchandise for the show, CD's, Manga, DVDs, cosmetics, cell phone rings, tags, keychains...they had every DVD promoted on the show while the show was in production. While on AS we might see a advertisement for gametap, we don't see advertisements for Bleach on a Wii or XBox/Playstation or the Manga or the DVDs. It's a lost opportunity.

Even public television releases are advertised as the show airs.....oops, I forgot public television is for people who actually think.....uh, HBO et al, advertise that the show you just watched is available On Demand (and extra charge service that they benefit from).

Re: Cartoon Network get rid of Bleach on AS?

AS sucks. They even got rid of prince of tennis! Too bad I'm already on the Nationals OVAs.

I think AS would rather prefer Death Note to play through while more Bleach episodes are being dubbed. I really hope they don't put the Banto arc
